The youth-focused local non-profit is located in Suite 108 on the first floor of the Midtown Center. Young Life has 3 full-time staff, 5 part-time, 1 church partner, and works with 130 volunteers to conduct their programming throughout the year. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, Young Life programs have been serving around 1,500 youth per year. The goal of the organization is to create healthy relationships with the youth they serve, including “going to where kids are”, in order to make the strongest impact in helping them grow in their faith.
The staff train volunteer mentors to build relationships with youth mentees by attending sports games and school activities, and continue to strengthen the relationships through bible studies, and Young Life summer camps. Many of the current Young Life staff & volunteers experienced the impact of the program and wanted to continue to be a part of the mission. Greater Holland Young Life has been caring for youth in the community for 43 years thanks to the love and support of the people here in the community. The organization has been housed at the Midtown Center since its doors reopened in 2009, they have been able to continue to thrive with the office being a great centralized location, close to downtown and Hope’s campus, as well as continue to have affordable rent to assist in overhead costs so they can focus on providing their programming to the community.
